Weight is a pretty heavy issue (pun intended), so one girl decided to deal with it head on.

An eighth grader from Indiana has caught the attention of the internet after she penned the most truthful response possible to a homework assignment in which she was asked to calculate her body mass index (BMI).

It's not hard to figure out BMI (it's a formula related to your height and weight , but the girl decided instead to write -- by hand -- a two-page essay saying she's not going to do her assignment because she's aware she's a big girl and has no issue with that whatsoever. "Ever since I can remember I've been a 'bigger girl,' and I'm completely fine with that; I'm strong and powerful," she wrote.

She ended the essay on a note of total self-confidence. "I am just beginning to love my body," she wrote. "My BMI is none of your concern because my body and BMI are perfect and beautiful just the way they are."

What do you think? Should the girl be applauded for her stance or is she wrong for thinking being overweight is okay?
