Grant Allows Belfast Shipyard To Hire Dozens Of New Employees

According to WCSH 6, a grant from the U. S. Department of Transportation Maritime Division will allow Belfast's Front Street Shipyard to hire approximately 40 new employees.

In addition to hiring new employees, the grant of $667,028 will allow the shipyard to build a new warehouse and purchase a water jet cutting machine capable of slicing through titanium.The new cutting machine will allow the shipyard to make other products.

The new warehouse and cutter will be ready to go by mid-2019
