Greg Michaels Asking, Is This News?

You can watch any newscast, local or national and sometimes ask yourself is this news? Last night I was watching the local news and learning about a non-suspicious death in Lewiston.

First of all I feel horrible for the widow and the passing of her husband, but the only reason the story made the news is that they were hoarders. As if losing your husband isn't devastating enough, you're on TV because of a condition you have is embarrassing as well. Unless a PSA comes out of this about hoarding this isn’t nice and in poor taste and just in my opinion below what I expect from local TV news.

I feel I’m doing the same as they did last night on the 11:00 news by bringing up the story but to me it’s not news, it doesn’t educate me, it’s not really anything I can use and there is no perpetrator.

Don't get me wrong I love a good salacious story but this was just pointless, sad and unneeded.

Even worse, the station I was watching lead with this story I guess because they had video of a bulldozer carrying boxes and debris.
