How do you know it is spring in Maine?  Road work!

Starting next week the company doing the reconstruction project in downtown Hallowell will start moving in the equipment and getting ready to start the actual work in early April.

Centralmaine.com reports Sargent Corp said they want to get the Hallowell Water Street reconstruction project done right but done quickly.

It will cost about $5 million and will wrap up this fall.

This has been in the planning stages for a long time and it is challenging to do this type of project in an area that has people living, working and enjoying.

Here is the MaineDOT timeline of how it should all play out.
