Last year NBC found itself with a surprising success in Bryan Fuller's darkly delicious 'Hannibal,' slotting in the April premiere after the failure of 'Do No Harm.' This time around, the good doctor has an earlier reservation for his second course, as 'Hannibal' season 2 has been scheduled to serve up its premiere on a February Friday, with the side of a maddening new teaser poster!

NBC will officially premiere the second season of its Mads Mikkelsen-Hugh Dancy prequel drama on February 28 at 10:00 P.M. Don't fret about the Friday timeslot however, as NBC's own 'Grimm' has managed to thrive in its apparent banishment, while devoted fans and critics alike will be eager to devour new episodes of the Hannibal Lecter drama. And if that weren't exciting enough, how about Will's familiarly-masked predicament in the latest season 2 poster!

Elsewhere, series creator Bryan Fuller tweeted out a photo confirming Raul Esparza’s return to ‘Hannibal’ season 2 as Dr. Frederick Chilton, while ‘X-Files‘ vet Gillian Anderson will reprise her role as Hannibal’s own therapist, Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier, as will Eddie Izzard as Dr. Abel Gideon. Along with confirmed season 2 roles for ‘Sex and the City’ vet Cynthia Nixon and ‘Homeland‘ player Martin Donovan, Fuller previously expressed a desire to cast ‘Pushing Daisies’ alumni Lee Pace, Kristin Chenoweth, Anna Friel and Chi McBride, along with music icon David Bowie as Hannibal’s uncle, though nothing has been confirmed.
