Get ready for a great time this evening, June 22, for the Grand Opening Celebration for Augusta's newest senior housing community. It's the Hodgkins School Apartments, Malta Street, Augusta.

This 1958 historic middle school has been converted to 47 units of affordable senior housing. Come see the transformation for yourself!

Amanda Bartlett from the Augusta Housing Authority and Bruce Chase from the Augusta Recreation Department joined us on the Moose Morning Show to talk about this all ages event.

There will be fun for all ages including public building tours, live music from The School Street Band, guest speakers, Pickleball play and demonstrations with Augusta Recreation, and a resident-coordinated pie-tasting contest. Plus, informational tables from MaineGeneral, KVYMCA, Senior Spectrum, Healthy Communities of the Capital Area, and AARP.

Also appearing: Augusta's newest fire/ladder truck and the Augusta Police Department. Food and cash bar provided by Lisa's White Flour Catering.
