A mid-coast area woman is accusing the former operator of a homeless shelter in Rockland of offering her housing in exchange for sex.

According to the Bangor Daily News, a lawsuit was filed last week against Gordon Mank Jr. and Mid-Coast Hospitality House Inc. Because the woman is an alleged victim of sexual assault, the BDN does not identify the plaintiff.

The accuser says she and her four children were homeless in October 2010. When she contacted 'Hospitality House' looking for temporary housing, she said Mank, could make room for her. They later arranged to meet to fill out paperwork. She says that is when the first sexual encounter occurred.

She also says Mank brought her gifts and made other promises in relation to housing and assistance programs in exchange for having sex with him.
