As I was leaving our 56 Western Avenue (Augusta) studios yesterday afternoon, I saw a strange looking SUV cruising down Western Avenue.  It had a small "tower" on the roof with 4 cameras mounted on it.  As it passed in front of me, I could see that the side of vehicle was labeled with "Apple Maps".

I have no way of knowing whether or not they were actually recording at that moment, but I am guessing they are not up here to go sightseeing.

As a 'Droid user, I have never actually used Apple Maps.  It looks like there are some cool features that Google Maps doesn't offer, like a details flyover mode.  Google has something like that, but it doesn't look as detailed.

This video does a decent job of comparing the two apps.
