Be aware of another phone scam going around. According to centralmaine.com, there have been calls purportedly from IRS agents saying the person owes money and must send it immediately or they could be arrested or sued.

Don't worry. These calls are part of a scam. If you receive such a call, please call your local police or sheriff’s department.

The Office of the Maine Attorney General said similar calls have been reported more than 100 times in the state.

The calls can come from a live person or from a recorded voice. So far, there have been no reports of anyone falling for the scam.
