There's nothing better than a small town community Christmas celebration and that's just what we had in Skowhegan earlier today. With the chill in the air and a very light snowfall, it was something akin to a Norman Rockwell scene and I loved it!

Not only did I check out many of the retailers who were offering generous deals but I did my part to stimulate the Skowhegan economy, stopping into the Children's Cottage to get some Thomas The Train movies for little Evan to visiting Mike at The Bankery where I only went to get a cup of coffee.  As it turns out, I needed one of their larger bags to pack my haul of cookies, scones, cakes and éclairs.

In Russakoff Jewelers there were some gemstone globes that I was ogling at.  They were 25% off, today only.  Marie Anne stopped in there several years back and bought me a big one for Christmas.  Last year, I walked into the small stand it was sitting on (in the dark) and knocked it to the floor where it went to pieces.  Actually, so did I.  It wasn't a cheap piece.  I was able to resist the urge to replace it today.  Maybe after the holidays.

Enjoy the pictures.  If you weren't there, plan to make it next year.  There's nothing like the spirit of a Skowhegan Holiday Stroll!
