Just Saying “Shhh” Isn’t Working At The Auburn Library

Remember when we were kids and went to the library? We had to be very quiet or the librarian would give their evil eye and say “Shhhhh.” That was the first warning if we were being too loud or overly restless. Libraries are great city institutions which I along with many others I’m sure kind of take for granted.  Well at the Auburn City Library sadly, jjust the librarian saying “Shhhh” isn’t enough. They have to add to their rules of conduct. There have been people bringing in messy foods, urinating in the elevator and using vulgarity among, other things. I never would have thought that the Auburn City Library would be a place for such chaos and disorderly conduct. It’s a public place for all to enjoy and not a place to be harassed and grossed out.
