Kanye West Goes on Paparazzi-Fueled Rant, Disses Britney Spears in Court
It’s not exactly news that Kanye West isn’t BFFs with the paparazzi. Rather, he’s known to verbally and physically lash out at them from time to time. According to TMZ, not even legal trouble will cool his hatred for hounding photogs!
The rapper’s animosity towards paps came to a head last summer when he physically attacked a paparazzo, Daniel Ramos, and broke his camera. Yeezy has been wrapped up in a messy civil lawsuit for assault and battery since then, but he’s displaying no remorse.
TMZ got ahold of the transcript of Kanye’s deposition, where he informed everyone, “I’m the smartest celebrity you’ve ever f—ing dealt with. I’m not Britney Spears.”
Hey, now. No need to drag the queen of pop into this!
Kanye went on to tell Ramos’ lawyer: “I’m in the business of trying to make dope s— for the world. You’re in the business of representing scums and trying to make as much money as long as there’s this lapse in the law.”
In perhaps the most bizarre moment of the depo, the ‘Black Skinhead’ star compared African Americans fighting for their civil rights in the 1960s to celebrities fighting for theirs in present day. “I mean, in the ’60s people use to hold up ‘Die N—–’ signs when my parents were in the sit-ins also.” He added, “I equate it to discrimination. I equate it to inequalities.”
It’s hard to say whether Kanye was being serious or not, but isn’t that part of what makes him great?
