Lady Gaga doesn't collaborate often with up and coming artists, so we were excited when she teamed up with rapper Kendrick Lamar for a track called 'Partynauseous' on his debut album 'good kid, m.A.A.d city.' But the song was notably absent from the album's track listing. What happened?

Gaga shared the reason for the song being axed on her Little Monster's site, revealing that it was management involving itself a little too much in the song's artistic direction, which Gaga did not like, so it was pulled. Gaga still digs Lamar and hopes the song drops down the road in some other way, shape or form; it's just not the right time for it now.

We're surprised that the rapper's team got so involved that it caused Gaga to pull out of the collabo. Gaga is the biggest name in pop music and her feature could have provided a huge boost for Lamar's album. So his handlers meddling in the music might have been a misstep.

Below is Gaga's post about the song's removal from Lamar's platter. She really sheds light on her creative process in the space of a few lines and we respect her stance.

I apologize to the fans that this situation with Partynauseous is confusing. To it clear it up I must explain this. When I collaborate with an artist i work solely with them, not with their camps or management. Its purely organic and creative. I love Kendrick dearly as a friend, but was not willing to compromise musically to the changes his team was making to my music. This is why I am not his record. I have a very specific vision as a producer and songwriter, and I always have. That song will be released at a different time, for a different project. I love you, and think you should check out his stuff because he is truly great. He’s a good kid, its just sometimes a mad city. -LG
