All sources and Lance Armstrong’s actions say it. Armstrong has stepped down as chairman from his own charity, Livestrong. Armstrong has lost sponsors as well, including Nike and Anheuser-Busch. Even a former cyclist, Tyler Hamilton is outing him as a Performance Enhancing Drug ( PED) user. In one way it’s sad that we find out that an icon has allegedly used PEDs to win not one, not two, three or four, but seven Tour De France races in a row but in another it’s quite nauseating that we find out.

I won’t say I don’t care, but I feel differently if a pro athlete uses human growth hormones, steroids or a more sophisticated PED. Yes, it’s wrong, but Manny Ramirez, Rafael Palmeiro or even A-Rod if they use it doesn’t bother me as much as it does if an athlete representing our country and pride uses. It’s somehow more shameful to me if an Olympian or someone in the Tour De France is using. I think we kind of knew there was something up with Armstrong winning seven races in a row. This is just my take, you can have your own. Either way, it’s not a good time to be Lance Armstrong.

All of this said please still open your hearts and wallets to cancer research and to finding a cure. Please, let’s separate the cancer money raiser ‘Livestrong’ from the cyclist.
