HBO

The late-night landscape isn't quite done shifting after Letterman's retirement, now that Craig Ferguson has followed suit by retiring from 'The Late Late Show,' but at least 'The Daily Show' alum John Oliver has officially settled into his new home. Watch the premiere of HBO's new Sunday news series 'Last Week Tonight with John Oliver' right now!

Operating with no commercials and no mercy, last night's 'Last Week Tonight' (say that three times fast) saw the former 'Daily Show' correspondent and brief host sitting behind his very own desk to cover the likes of Oregon, the Clippers controversy, the NSA and more. HBO has made the entire first episode of the new series online, particularly digestible given its half-hour format, even if we might have wished the series to run longer.

Airing Sundays at 11:00 p.m., ‘Last Week Tonight with John Oliver’ satirically recounts the previous week’s news, as the former ‘Daily Show’ star attempted to explain in HBO’s first trailer. Few details were available on the series at the time of its November announcement, though HBO describes ‘Last Week Tonight with John Oliver’ to present “a satirical look at news, politics and current events.”
