“Oink, oink!” Governor Paul LePage yesterday (June 17) squeezed a toy pig, while standing in front of a decorated Christmas tree, just outside his office.

Just another day in Maine politics.

LePage’s latest gesture was to prove his point that the biennial state budget, passed this week, was filled with wasteful spending and misplaced priorities.

According to the Bangor Daily News, a "Christmas tree often is used in politics as a symbol of spending bills to which numerous projects are attached. Pigs, or pork, are equally as symbolic of wasteful spending."

In the above video, the Maine's Republican governor says, "We need Mainers to understand that their government is corrupt. We need to have Mainers demand better than this.”
