The romantic saga of Lindsay Lohan and the Wanted's Max George has taken a nosedive almost as steep as Lohan's post-'Mean Girls' career: She unfollowed him on Twitter after he dubbed her a "groupie."

That's it, you guys. Love is well and truly dead.

The dis went down in an interview backstage at Capital FM's Jingle Bell Ball in London. ITN (via AceShowbiz) reports that when a DJ asked George if he and Lohan are dating, his ever-chivalrous reply pissed off the ginger princess.

"No, what's the right word for her?" George began. "Ah yeah, a groupie!" Yowch.

Adding insult to injury, one of his bandmates chimed in, "She is probably hiding in our suitcase right now!"

In fairness to George, the world has basically been calling Lohan the Wanted's groupie since she first started tagging along with them on tour following her arrest for punching a psychic in the face while partying with George.

Apparently it was just hearing it from the horse's mouth that bothered her -- and with that, George lost a high-profile Twitter follower.

Still, it's confusing why his words would come as such a shock to LiLo. George has previously said she's not girlfriend material and he's outed her hard partying, post-rehab habits. (Granted, it's not anything we didn't already know.)

Of course, she hasn't completely let go yet: She's still following three of his bandmates, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness and Nathan Sykes.

Maybe she just wanted fewer distractions now that her probation's been revoked. Or maybe she just needed some time to herself to figure out how to keep from losing her storage locker to the highest bidder.
