Listen To What The White House Has To Say About The Government Shutdown

The federal government remains shut down today (Jan. 22), and while lawmakers are working to find a compromise and end the shutdown, the government remains closed.

That even includes the staff at the White House comment line. While they usually take comments from the public for the president and his staff, the closure has shut down the phone line as well. And to make no doubt what the White House's feelings are regarding the budget impasse, a very pointed outgoing voicemail greets anyone who calls the line.
