Luke Evans is ‘The Crow’
Luke Evans has been on the verge of breaking out in a huge way for a few years now and it looks like his moment has finally come: the Welsh actor has been cast in the lead role in the upcoming reboot of 'The Crow.'
If you aren't familiar with Evans, don't worry -- you will be soon. You may have missed his supporting turns in 'The Raven,' 'Immortals' and 'Clash of the Titans,' but you'll soon be able to see him as the main bad guy in 'Fast and Furious 6,' Bard the Bowman in 'The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug' and the legendary vampire himself in the upcoming 'Dracula.' By this time next year, Evans could be huuuge, so getting the increasingly busy actor now is a pretty major coup for 'The Crow.'
Based on a well-liked (if not necessarily extremely well known) comic book, 'The Crow' tells the story of a dead man who returns to life to avenge the murders of himself and his fiancee. It was previously turned into a film in 1994, but that production is more famous for the accidental death of star Brandon Lee on set rather than the film itself. Back then, comic book movies were a little less common, so the big question now is whether or not 'The Crow' will stand out in a flooded marketplace.
'The Crow' is set to be directed by F. Javier Gutierrez. No start or release date have been set for the film as of yet.
