Mac Dickson Remembers His Dad in Photos on Memorial Day

As I sit here at home on this Memorial Day, thinking about the day ahead, I find myself going through some of my Dad's old pictures.

My father was in the Army for over 20 years and almost never shared his experiences with us. It's amazing what I learn about him every time I stare at some of these photos. I wish he was still here to share his memories and thoughts.

He earned the Purple Heart in the Korean War and was a decorated recruiter in his final years.

I go through these pictures and think about the sacrifices he made for, not only our family, but for our country.
