Is Madonna a thief? That claim comes from staffers for Patricia Field, a former costume designer for 'Sex and the City' and 'Ugly Betty.' They charge that black "VOGUE" caps Madonna sold at her recent New York City concerts are reproductions of the ones Field has been selling.

A Tumblr post credited to Andy, one of Field's employees, says that a Field designer came up with the cap design that Madonna stole. He wrote, "She is selling exact replicas of our VOGUE hat as part of her tour merchandise!!!!... Our own Patricia Field stylist, Hiraku, designed the snap back and we sell it as a t-shirt, headband and a beanie as well. They’ve been going like hotcakes here at the store and have become a staple of the Patricia Field brand this year."

He added, "I don’t really have anything else to say but... Madonna is a thief! Do you really need an extra few thousand dollars? Shame, shame for stealing from those that inspire you!"

The fact that Madonna is now being accused of stealing another artist's ideas is ironic, given that Madge mocked Lady Gaga every night on the MDNA Tour by performing a medley of 'Express Yourself' and 'Born This Way,' a not-so-subtle statement that she believes Gaga ripped off the melody from her hit song.

But this could be much ado about nothing, as some Madonna fans have pointed out that her dancers wore similar hats on stage back in 1990 when 'Vogue' first became a hit, years before Patricia Field released its hats. We'll wait to see if Madonna cares to weigh in on the dispute.
