State Senator Bill Diamond (D) from Windham wants Maine to reinstate the death penalty for horrific crimes against children. Maine ended the death penalty in 1887. What do you think of the proposed bill?

On the death penalty in general, I'm more or less against it, because I'm guessing it comes down to luck in some cases. There are those who are guilty who walk on a technicality and there are those who for the exact same crime pay with their life.

Barring a confession, how can you know for absolute certain and even then, do we know?

The only good that comes from a death penalty option is the state can use it as leverage in a plea deal. You spare us a lengthy trial, we won't fry you.
