The Maine Governor's Energy Office says heating prices are climbing as winter approaches.

The office says the average price for heating oil rose 11 cents over the past two weeks to $2.15 per gallon. Kerosene prices rose 10 cents to $2.66 and propane prices climbed 4 cents to $2.35 per gallon.

The energy office says crude oil prices have risen globally since the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries announced a production cut late last month.

Northern Maine had a higher average at $2.26 per gallon for heating oil. The highest heating oil price in the state was $2.45 per gallon.

The prices reflect a Dec. 12 survey. —AUGUSTA, Maine (AP)
