Maine Lobster Festival is getting started in Rockland on Wednesday. The event will last until Sunday and will be based around eating Maine's signature summertime seafood treat.

Whether or not this is the 69th or 70th edition of the festival is the source of some debate. Organizers say the very first festival was held in Camden in 1947.

But it has been held in Rockland every year since 1948, and most organizers describe this year as the 69th installment of the event.

Whatever year it is, the event will be only slightly different than 1948. That year hundreds of pounds of ocean perch were donated to be cooked and served with the lobster.  (AP)
