Maine State Police this morning searched Messalonskee Stream looking for missing toddler Ayla Reynolds. Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said North Street bridge in Waterville had scheduled maintenance and that provided the opportunity for police to search the area again.

The 20 month old disappeared from the Waterville home of her father, Justin DiPietro on December 17, 2011.

Today's attempt was the first water search for Ayla Reynolds since the middle of July. At that time, police combed the Kennebec River. Also taking part in this morning's search was the Waterville police and a game warden. They searched about a half-mile area of Messalonskee Stream. Nothing related to the missing toddler was recovered. No other searches are scheduled.
