Those who caught The Voice on April 6 were treated to an extra-special performance: Maroon 5 played their new single "Sugar"!

As is standard for M5 performances, the energy was high and Adam Levine's vocals were on point. (Even Blake Shelton — who has a lighthearted rivalry with Adam — was nodding his head along.)

Even through our TVs, Adam made us swoon as he crooned, "I don't wanna be needing your love / I just wanna be deep in your love / And it's killing me when you're away, ooh, baby / 'Cause I really don't care where you are / I just wanna be there where you are /And I gotta get one little taste."

That falsetto? Amazing.

Thankfully, this performance went smoother than a recent Maroon 5 concert in which Adam Levine accidentally hit a fan on the head with a microphone. (He clearly felt guilty and invited her to watch the rest of the show from the side of the stage.)

If you're looking for even more Adam on your TV (and who isn't?), then you're in luck. The singer is reportedly working on an upcoming songwriting reality TV show. The show —titled Songland — will help expose some of the best up-and-coming songwriters in the industry. Sounds cool, right? We think so!

A songwriting competition is the perfect project for Adam. After all, Maroon 5 have been nominated for a cool nine Grammy Awards, of which they won three. We would love to see Adam coach not only aspiring singers, but rising writers.

In the meantime, you can watch him and the rest of Maroon 5 rock out to "Sugar" on The Voice.
