Tuesday was back to college for me, and I made a most interesting discovery.  I have a classmate at KVCC and her Dad heads to McMurdo Station in the ANTARCTIC because this is the time of the year when they can get goods and supplies in.  WHAT AN ADVENTURE! Last year they made of video of just how they do what the do!
The station is the largest community in Antarctica, but that is still small. They can support to maximum of about 1250 people.  McMurdo  serves as the United States Antarctic science facility.  All the people and stuff coming or going to Amundsen–Scott South Pole Station go through McMurdo. It is a busy place when it is warm enough to get the ship in. Check out the time elapsed video below, of how they do it! My classmate's Dad is driving one of the big tractor things after they build the dock.
