Miley Cyrus Granted a Three-Year Restraining Order Against Fan
Miley Cyrus had to take an obsessed fan to court today in order to receive a restraining order for her protection.
Lawyers representing the 21-year-old singer were in court for a hearing to seek a permanent restraining order against Devon Meek, TMZ reported. The over-eager fan claimed he’d rather die than live without her, and told police if he couldn’t meet Miley, they might as well shoot him.
Yikes! No wonder Miley was concerned for her own safety.
The court ruled that Meek must stay at least 100 yards away from the ‘Adore You’ star for three years. That includes music venues, so there won’t be any ‘Bangerz’ shows for him any time soon. According to TMZ, he also told police that Miley speaks to him through the radio, and that he hears screaming voices in his head.
The Los Angeles Police Department’s Threat Management Unit first arrested Meek on May 16 after he was caught trying to meet Miley near one of her properties. He is still being held for psychiatric evaluation.
