We've heard from Justin Timberlake, Billy Ray Cyrus, Donald Trump and the inventor of the foam finger about Miley Cyrus' MTV Video Music Awards performance, but we had yet to hear from Miley herself. Until now.

Spoiler: She's just being Miley!

MTV got the exclusive (for obvious reasons), interviewing Cyrus a few days after parents rushed to cover the eyes of their children.

"I don't pay attention to the negative because I've seen this play out so many times. How many times have we seen this play out in pop music? ... Madonna's done it. Britney's done it," Miley said of the commentary about her performance alongside Robin Thicke.

As for the impact of the performance, Miley told the network that she knew she and Thicke were about to do something memorable before they went on the stage. And boy, were they right.

"Me and Robin the whole time said, 'You know we're about to make history right now.' What's amazing is I think now, we're three days later and people are still talking about it. They're overthinking it," Miley continued. "You're thinking about it more than I thought about it when I did it. Like, I didn't even think about it 'cause that's just me!"
