A second round of renovations could be coming to the Hathaway Center in Waterville. With the development is a renewed interest in the traffic patterns of the Downtown Waterville area.

With development comes people and with people comes traffic, both foot and vehicular.  There are ideas like a round-about as opposed to traffic lights and a two-way traffic downtown. Downtown Waterville had two-way traffic at one time, and it was changed around 1960.  As for the buildings that are the focus of the work, it’s the old Marden’s and CMP buildings. What is being talked about is similar to the work that has been done on the former Hathaway building, with office, retail and residential space, maybe even a hotel and conference center.
