Even though it is a couple of hour's drive from central Maine, this story kinda' hits close to home for me, because it is in an area where I lived for over a decade.

According to the KJ, a brush fire in Albany New Hampshire has spread to over 100 acres in the White Mountain National Forest.  People in Mount Washington Valley are being asked to stay inside and keep their windows closed due to the smoke.

Firefighter teams from Maine and other parts of New Hampshire have been called in to help fight the blaze.

The cause of the fire, first reported on Saturday afternoon, has not been found.

A raging forest fire aside, I would recommend a visit to the White Mountains of New Hampshire.  There's so much to see and do in all 4 seasons.  Get more details here
