Mount Desert Island, is ranked at at No. 25A in a new list of the best islands in the world. The ranking comes from 'Travel and Leisure' magazine.

How did it come by the high ranking? The magazine says because of it's "fjords carved by glaciers" and it's "scenic routes for hiking, cycling, and kayaking."

After our recent trip, I think it should be ranked even higher. The beauty is boundless!

Two islands in the Phillipines took the top two spots, followed by Hawaii’s Maui in third. Mount Desert Island, the largest island off the coast of Maine, ranked just below the Fiji Islands and higher than Bora Bora and Maldives.
