Multi-Car Crash Closes I-95 In Pittsfield

A multi-vehicle crash has closed the southbound side of I-95 in Pittsfield.

According to a release from the Maine DOT, the accident occurred on I-95 southbound in Pittsfield at mile 146. The Interstate is currently closed southbound in that area.

All southbound traffic will use Exit 150, the DOT said.  In 3/10 of a mile motorists will turn right onto Industrial Park Street then proceed one mile and turn right onto Route 11. Traffic will then turn right onto Baker Street/Hinckley Road then back to I-95 south. This detour route is approximately 15 miles.

Emergency personnel say this will most likely be an extended closure. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route, according to the DOT.
