The long manhunt for murder suspect Robert Burton is finally over.

According to published reports, Burton, who has been wanted in connection with the killing of his ex-girlfriend since June 5, turned himself in to the Piscatquis County Sheriff's Department around noon on Tuesday, Aug. 11. He is being held on a charge of being a fugitive from justice.

According to the Maine Department of Public Safety, an arrest warrant was authorized June 8 by the Attorney General’s Office charging Burton with murder in connection with the death of his former girlfriend, Stephanie Gebo, 37.
