One of the greatest things about the current pop cultural climate is how much more likely a canceled television show is to get a new home on another network. Enter Nashville, which was booted from ABC after four seasons but will find new life on CMT with its fifth.

"CMT heard the fans. The wave of love and appreciation they have unleashed for Nashville has been overwhelming,” said Brian Philips, President of CMT, via The Tennessean. “Nashville is a perfect addition to our evolving line-up of big music specials, documentaries, and original series. We see our fans and ourselves in this show and we will treasure it like no other network. Nashville belongs on CMT.”

While it was initially unclear as to whether or not the show's main stars, Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere, would return, it seems the entire cast is under contract for additional seasons, according to Deadline.

The site also reports Season 5 has already been planned out, and that the show believed so strongly it would return that they chose not to go with the “happily-ever-after alternative series ending” and opted for the Season 4 cliffhanger that aired last month.

Nashville — which has undergone a change in directors, as Marshall Herskovitz and Ed Zwick have taken over as show runners -- will also be available to stream on Hulu, according to Rolling Stone.

Will you make the switch along with Nashville to watch Season 5 on CMT? Let us know in the comments.
