It is snowmobile season in Maine. But it is safety first. It has been a year since the four people died when they went into open water on Rangeley Lake. The state of Maine has created a new message about common sense safety.

According to the KJ, there are many factors that go in to safe snowmobiling but in the end, they are all common sense. Don't speed or drink, let people know where you are heading, know the terrain you are traveling on and avoid bad weather. Check out their new safety video.

The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife as a great page about safety and other snowmobile related links. We have the snow, bundle up, enjoy and be safe!
