Matt Forte’s Chicago Bears didn’t make the playoffs this year, but the fifth-year running back out of Tulane came out to represent the team at this year’s NFL Honors in New Orleans on Saturday night.

For the second year, the NFL's brightest current, former and future stars shined at the 2nd Annual National Football League Honors. Hollywood and NFL stars walked the red carpet at the Mahalia Jackson Theater before the signature event which honors the best players and performances during the 2012 season.

Forte took a few minutes on the red carpet to talk music, football and his football homecoming in New Orleans.

You played your college ball at Tulane. What’s it like for you to be back here to celebrate the Super Bowl in a town that you love that’s been through so much?

Matt Forte: It’s awesome to see the city all clean and everything and there’s so many people down here now, the events are going great. I think New Orleans is on the way back and it’s a great time to be here anyway.

What are some of your favorite places to take friends who are here in New Orleans for the first time?

Matt Forte: I go to Drago’s -- it’s so good. I don’t even eat oysters and I go there and eat the charbroiled oysters. I go to Emeril’s. I go to Jacques-Imo’s -- gotta go to Jacques-Imo’s. And Commander’s Palace, there are so many spots down here. If I want some soul food, gotta go to Dizzy’s [Li’l Dizzy’s Café].

What’s the guilty pleasure song on your iPod?

Matt Forte: I have a few Justin Bieber songs. Or Kenny G.

On Sundays, what famous woman are you hoping is watching?

Matt Forte: Either Halle Berry or Paula Patton. Or Beyonce.

Do you have a pick for the Super Bowl?

Matt Forte: I I think San Francisco will win. I think it’s a tough game until the fourth quarter and they pull it out, 28-17.
