The city of Oakland, Maine is starting a program that they are calling 'Coffee With A Cop.' The program works exactly like it sounds. Oakland Police are offering Coffee with a Cop each Tuesday morning at 7a.m. at the Early Bird Restaurant on Maine Street in Oakland.

The idea is for the public to be in a casual setting with police officers. police Captain Rick Stubbert and three other officers will be at the restaurant for around an hour. The public is invited to join them for a cup of coffee. I'd be careful with the donut jokes!

Subject matters are wide open! They can be about community concerns to the Red Sox or the weather.

'Coffee with a Cop' was launched by the Hawthorne, California Police Dept. in 2011 and more than 175 police departments across the country now have this program.
