British boy bands One Direction and the Wanted have once again reignited their possibly PR-driven feud over the social media site Twitter.

It all started when Tom Parker of the Wanted asked whether One Direction kept mentioning them on their tour, and 1D's Louis Tomlinson (not to be confused with the far superior Lily Tomlin) tweeted a link to a story about Tom's failed 'X Factor' audition.

Well apparently, across the pond, them's fighting words, and a Twitter slapfight ensued with a whole lot of virtual hair pulling and taunts of, "I know you are but what am I?"

Many of the tweets have since been deleted, so kindly enjoy these screen shots.

Jay McGuinness of the Wanted jumped in to help his band mate with a scathing message to Tomlinson which pretty much put an end to tomfoolery.

Dear @Louis_Tomlinson,

Please stop mentioning us in your gigs, we certainly no longer mention you and it's time to let dead dogs lie. Your passive-aggressive style of speaking makes me cringe, and I wish you'd either have the bollocks of some of your co-workers to speak truthfully, or the class of the majority of them to be silent.

I'm not sure what's happened since we saw you at the 'X Factor,' but you've done a sterling job of becoming one of the most overrated, arrogant and not to mention insincere people around. Your shocking lack of talent will only be forgiven by lots of humility and no-strings-attached friendship among your band.

Louis, don't measure your worth in followers or money, because they're fickle, and when they go you might just feel worthless.

We're going to have to side with the Wanted on this one. No one attacks Boy George and the Empire State building on our watch.
