Cindy Schild, director of media relations for CSX, said in a statement;

“CSX extends its deepest sympathies to everyone impacted by this tragic incident, and we will work on scene to support local law enforcement as they investigate"

The Sun Journal reported that first responders were called after the pedestrian strike and when they arrived on scene, the person was already deceased from their injuries.

This accident is still under investigation and we expect that more information, including the identity of the deceased, will be released in the coming days.

It's also important to report that there were no injuries sustained to any of the crew members aboard the CSX train at the time of the accident.
