Apparently, there is a trade ban on lace lingerie in Russia. The ban creates a situation will outlaw any undies with less than 6% cotton from being imported, made or sold in Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan. So this past weekend, 30 protesters in Kazakhstan were while wearing lace undies on their heads and shouting "Freedom to panties!"

According to what I was reading online, the ban was first outlined in 2010 by the Eurasian Economic Commission, which regulates the customs union.  The bill will go into effect and it won't go into effect until July 1. But, as you can see, people are already getting their panties in a bunch.  Apparently, lace undies sell VERY well in Russia!
