Sometimes I wonder if we New England Patriot fans are getting spoiled. Year after year, they seem to be one of, if not THE best team in the NFL. And as long as they have Tom Brady continuing to play at his high level, New England seems to be the team to beat again this year heading into the playoffs.

Brady threw for 276 yards and 3 touchdowns as the Patriots beat the playoff bound Miami Dolphins Sunday 35-14. Julian Edelman caught 8 passes for 151 yards and a touchdown. New England finishes the regular season at 14-2 and goes into the playoffs on a 7 game winning streak.

With the win, New England assured themselves of home field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs.

New England secured a bye last week. All six AFC teams headed to the playoffs were decided last week, but Sunday's games saw some jockeying for position.

Kansas City needed an Oakland loss and the Chiefs needed a win to advance to the second seed and a first round bye, which is what happened. KC beat San Diego 37-27, and the Raiders loss to the Denver Bronco's 24-6.

So New England is the number 1 seed. Kansas City is the number 2 seed.

The other teams in the AFC playoffs who will all play next weekend during wild card weekend are:

Pittsburgh will be hosting Miami and Houston will be hosting Oakland next week during wild card weekend. Days and times have yet to be determined, but we will update this when they do.

The NFC teams are set, but at the time of this being published, the seedings were to be decided after the Green Bay/Detroit game during Sunday Night Football.
