Pedro Martinez Will Have (“45″) His Number Retired at Fenway

Former Red Sox pitching ace and 2004 World Champion Pedro Martinez will have his number "45" retired.

Do you remember Pedro Martinez on the mound? It still seems so recent to me that first Red Sox World Series win in my lifetime 11 years ago.

The Sox coming back from the dead to beat the Yankees in seven games in the ALCS, then the Red Sox took the Cardinals out in four games straight.

It was Boston’s first World Series championship in 86 years.

Martinez joins eight other Red Sox to have their numbers retired.

The ceremony will happen before the July 28^th game against the White Sox.
