Unlike some other people you may have heard of, not all celebs make a spectacle out of a trip to rehab. Case in point: Philip Seymour Hoffman, who was in and out of there swiftly -- and no one knew until he was done.

TMZ reports that Hoffman entered treatment for addiction to narcotics earlier this month.

Hoffman says he was clean for 23 years following a dependency on prescription painkillers, but fell off the wagon in a big way: He started with prescriptions once more, then went on to snort heroin. Yikes.

Thankfully, Hoffman entered a detox facility on the East Coast, where he remained for 10 days, checking out last Friday (May 24) and is reportedly on his way to recovery once more.

He told TMZ that the facility and "a great group of friends and family" helped him stay on the straight and narrow. He's doing well and is currently filming in Europe -- and he's clean. Kudos to the 'Capote' actor for keeping himself in check.
