I love it when Phish has concerts in Maine.  I myself am not much of a concert person, but Phish has such a loyal following. Their concerts are an economic boost and it is so cool to see people so passionate about the music and the group as they follow them from concert to concert.

According to the Bangor Daily News, officials are expecting this to be one of the biggest, if not the biggest concert they will have had at the Darling’s Waterfront Pavilion in Bangor.  It happens July 3rd, but their fans will start arriving a little before that.

The last time Phish came to Maine, they performed for 60,000 people at the former Loring Air Force Base in Limestone. That event being outdoors and in a bit of a remote location had a Woodstock feel. That was about 10 years ago. However, I don't expect it to be to like that in Bangor.

It's hard to believe, but Phish, who are from Vermont, has been together since the mid 80’s.

Waterfront officials will have a Phish village set up for fans and they will be ready for a big crowd. It should be fun! I grew up in Bangor. It blows my mind that an area of the city that  used to be overlooked and a little scary, has been developed into such an amazing venue along the waterfront.
