State Police say two Waldoboro residents are facing crack cocaine charges after the car they were in was stopped along Route 126 in Pittston.

According to Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland, troopers charged Nichole Pranes, 39, and Destinee Smith, 19.

McCausland said troopers seized from the car about four grams of crack, prescription pills and various drug paraphernalia. The two arrested were taken to the Kennebec County Jail. Both are charged with unlawful possession of a schedule W drug. Troopers Chris Rogers and James Moore stopped the car, being driven by Pranes, last Thursday after receiving a tip from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.
