The Lewiston Police say they have found the person who abandoned a dog in the parking lot of the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society in Lewiston. The humane society was closed at the time the dog was left, and the dog was later hit by a car and killed.

Police did not release the name of the person, but said they had found the person in a post on their Facebook page. Police said the case would be forwarded to the DA's office and it was likely that criminal charges would be filed.
