State Police continue to investigate the discovery of the remains of a full term baby boy found inside a Fairfield garage on Jan. 11.

According to Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland, the body has been examined by the State Medical Examiner’s Office and additional testing is taking place.

McCausland said the baby’s parents, Kayla Stewart, 20 and Nicholas Blood, 25, have cooperated with the investigation and have been interviewed by detectives.  The couple lived at the mobile home along Route 139 with their three year old daughter, who is now staying with other relatives.   Detectives have been gathering evidence from the home and detached garage since Sunday and that work is expected to be completed tonight, McCausland said.
