An $11 million, 50,000-square-foot expansion at Procter & Gamble's Tambrands plant in Auburn will be ready in the spring. P&G has been spending money in Maine, growing their business and making jobs!
The expansion is because of growing demand for one of their products. Their Pearl brand products are popular worldwide. The plant currently produces almost 9 million tampons per day, supplying feminine care products for the entire North American market under P&G’s Tampax brand, the worldwide leader in the tampon industry with a 46 % market share in 2011.  P&G has clearly been happy with Maine at place to grow their business, create jobs and find workers.
