Red-Faced TV Station Cuts Away From Stanley Cup Right Before Game-Winning Goal

Some hockey fans who missed out on the end of Game 4 of the Stanley Cup finals were left asking, “What the puck?”

While Chicago and Boston were knotted at 5 in overtime, KXAN in Austin, Texas inexplicably cut away to a promo for its local morning news, followed by snippets of two other commercials.

By the time the station brought the game back, it had ended and viewers discovered they missed the game-winning goal that helped the Blackhawks even the series at two games apiece.

Here’s hoping the station has someone new at the switch for Game 5.
